Hosting Your Web Site on the World Wide Web

This is a one of the frequently asked question of an amateur webmaster. You will need a web server to host your web site on the internet. Buying and maintaining a web server cost so much money and it requires someone who knows what they are doing to maintain the server and the web-site.

Then a web-host is very good for you. It provide equipment and other technical programs that are required to build a customer a web-site. These hosts charge a monthly fee or yearly (It depends upon them) for the service of storing your web site and allowing your web site to be seen on the internet. Within that fee, it allows web-site visitor traffic to flow through their servers so people can view your site on the World Wide Web.

The physical web server does not reside at the consumers home or business which means that the web host services are designated as out sourced services. This means that the hosting organization that you choose has the responsibility to maintain your site structure, files and web pages.

Many web hosts provide excellent services that really assist individuals and business owners. All the weight of maintaining the host servers and application fall on the hosting company and not the individual and as a business owner, this is great because there are so many technical routines that you have to do daily to maintain a server. Some hosts provide 24×7 online or phone support and solve your problems in minutes. It is very good. .Then

Once you have bought your hosting then you ‘ll need to change name servers of your domain. To do so go to your domains control panel and then to modify name servers and fill the name servers field with the name servers given by your web-host .Then upload your files in to their server. If your site is too big then you have to upload your files through FTP otherwise it can be done by file manager provided by your web-host. You have to upload your files into a folder named as public_html or www. If you like to upload your files through FTP server then make sure your host provide FTP support.

Then you will need and FTP client to upload your files. There are many FTP client available there, free as well as paid. Mine favorite is FileZilla. once you have downloaded and installed FTP client the login to your web-server. You ‘ll need address, login and password to login. In address field fill something like this ftp.yourdomain.com. Change yourdomain to the name your your domain. :D And in Login field fill your login name and password in your password field. If it ask the port then fill 21. Then connect and when connected upload your files in public_html folder and you are done.

Thanks.
